บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ โดย นายศิวโรจน์ เสาวมล หัวหน้าสำนักเทคโนโลยีเกษตรกลุ่ม และ นายสมศักดิ์ พิฆเนศวร หัวหน้าสำนักเทคโนโลยีพลังงาน ร่วมลงนามบันทึกข้อตกลงความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ โดยมี ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.นพ.พงษ์รักษ์ ศรีบัณฑิตมงคล อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ เป็นผู้ลงนามฝ่ายมหาวิทยาลัย พร้อมเข้าร่วมเสวนาภาคอุตสาหกรรมในหัวข้อ “นวัตกรรมสู่ความยั่งยืนของภาคอุตสาหกรรม”ความร่วมมือดังกล่าวมุ่งเน้นการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ งานวิจัย และการสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระหว่างภาคธุรกิจ ภาครัฐ และภาคชุมชน ควบคู่กับการถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม (Green & Climate Technology) ภายใต้เครือข่าย Carbon Business Networking เพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน การรับมือกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ และการนำองค์ความรู้ไปประยุกต์ใช้จริงในการดำเนินธุรกิจของเอสเอสไอให้สอดคล้องกับทิศทางความยั่งยืนและการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมเหล็กในระยะยาวพิธีลงนามจัดขึ้น ณ ห้องประชุมตะวัน กังวานพงศ์ สำนักงานมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ เมื่อวันที่ 26 มกราคม 2569
SSI and Chiang Mai University Partner on Climate Action
Accelerating Environmental Technology Development
Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited (SSI), represented by Mr. Sivaroj Saowamon, Head of Group AgroTech Office, and Mr. Somsak Pikkanesuan, Head of Group Energy Technology Office, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic collaboration with Chiang Mai University. The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University. The signing was accompanied by participation in an industrial panel discussion entitled “Innovation for Industrial Sustainability.”
The collaboration focuses on the development of knowledge, research, and cooperative networks among the business sector, government agencies, and local communities, together with the transfer of environmental technologies and innovations (Green & Climate Technology) under the Carbon Business Networking framework. The initiative aims to support sustainable development, address climate change challenges, and apply academic knowledge in SSI’s business operations, in alignment with long-term sustainability pathways and the competitiveness of the steel industry.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Tawan Kangwanpong Conference Room, Chiang Mai University Office, on 26 January 2026.
