Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. or SSI organized the “SSI to Open Intellectual Treasury” project by presenting Britannica Concise Encyclopedia, in Thai version, worth more than Baht 400,000 (Four hundred thousand Baht only) to 43 educational institutes in areas of Amphur Bang Saphan as the gift on Children Day at the Auditorium Meeting Room, Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited, Bang Saphan, Prachuab Khirikhan. This encyclopedia can also be served as self learning source of the youth in the local areas. Such activity is one of the policies to help developing the educational quality of the communities, so it can be as strong and equally as the ones in the big cities.

Recently, the officers of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. has made a courtesy call to Mr. Thavatchai Wisamon, District Officer of Amphur Bang Saphan due to New Year occasion and presented him the clay bouquet made by Ban Podaeng Women Vocational Group, Tambon Kamnert Noppakun, Amphur Bang Saphan at the office of Amphur Bang Saphan. This action is one of the missions to promote the vocational project encouraged by the Company.

It’s Time to See “Nong Lek Khao” – ได้ฤกษ์เปิดตัว”น้องเหล็กขาว”
Mr. Win Viriyaprapaikit, President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. or SSI, and Management Team unveiled “Nong Lek Khao or White Strip” as its new mascot. This new mascot will represent Cold Rolled Coils product, a new SSI product emerged from the additional acquisition in Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Public Company Limited or TCRSS. Such additional investment made SSI holding shares of 50.15 percent and became the major shareholder of TCRSS. This investment also completed business operation cycle of SSI and boosted SSI’s competitive superiority position in the world’s steel markets. Moreover, it made SSI business groups in Bang Saphan became ASEAN’s largest high-end steel sheet production base to respond to the higher living standard conditions of the people in this region.

นายวิน วิริยประไพกิจ กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่และคณะผู้บริหาร บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) ร่วม เปิดตัว MASCOT “น้องเหล็กขาว” หรือ “White Strip” โดยใช้เป็นสัญลักษณ์ตัวแทนของผลิตภัณฑ์ Cold Rolled Coils หรือ เหล็กแผ่นรีดเย็นชนิดม้วน ซึ่งเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์น้องใหม่ของเอสเอสไอที่เกิดขึ้นจากการลงทุนเพิ่มเติมใน บริษัท เหล็กแผ่นรีดเย็นไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ TCRSS ส่งผลให้เอสเอสไอกลายเป็นผู้ถือหุ้นใหญ่ที่ 50.15% ซึ่ง การลงทุนครั้งนี้จะช่วยให้การดำเนินธุรกิจของเอสเอสไอครบวงจร และมีศักยภาพด้านการแข่งขันในตลาดเหล็กโลกเพิ่มมากขึ้น ทำให้กลุ่มธุรกิจของเอสเอสไอที่บางสะพาน กลายเป็นฐานการผลิตเหล็กแผ่นชั้นคุณภาพพิเศษที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในในอาเซียน เพื่อรองรับกับมาตรฐานการครองชีพที่ดีขึ้นของประชากรในภูมิภาคนี้
SSI employed new technology to develop agricultural lunch project at Bang Saphan
Khun Win Viriyaprapaikit, President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. or SSI together with the SSI management team presented substrate culture farm projects to Ban Thakham School, Ban Don Samran School and Ban Suanluang School at Ban Don Samran School, Prachuap Khirikhan. The objective is to make these schools the pilot ones for learning sources on planting by using non-chemical substrate for the school students and the communities, so they can adapt and make them career in the future. At present, the products from these agricultural farms have been served as lunch for school students and sold to the communities to generate income for the educational institutes.

นายวิน วิริยประไพกิจ กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่พร้อมคณะผู้บริหาร บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือเอสเอสไอ มอบโครงการแปลงเกษตรอินทรีย์ปลูกพืชไร้ดิน ให้แก่ โรงเรียนบ้านท่าขาม โรงเรียนบ้านดอนสำราญ และโรงเรียนบ้านสวนหลวง ณ โรงเรียนบ้านดอนสำราญ จ.ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ โดยมุ่งหวังให้เป็นโรงเรียนนำร่องสำหรับเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้การปลูกพืชโดยใช้วัสดุปลูกแทนดิน (Substrate) แบบปลอดสารเคมี ให้แก่นักเรียนและชุมชนเพื่อนำไปประกอบวิชาชีพได้ต่อไป ซึ่งปัจจุบันผลผลิตที่ได้จากแปลงเกษตรนักเรียนสามารถนำมาบริโภคเป็นอาหารกลางวันในสถานศึกษาและจำหน่ายให้กับชุมชนเพื่อเป็นรายได้ให้กับสถานศึกษาได้อีกทางหนึ่งด้วย

Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited or SSI has a resolution to appoint the executives and assign the executives to perform duties in Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Public Company Limited or TCRSS, as follows: Miss Sunee Wattanapholmongkol, Vice President, Office of the President of TCRSS to be Vice President, Finance & Accounting Division of TCRSS and Vice President, Finance & Accounting Division of SSI; Mr. Narongrit Chotnuchittrakul, Assistant Vice President, Finance & Accounting Division (Accounting) of SSI to be Assistant Vice President, Office of the President and Vice President, Finance & Accounting Division of TCRSS; Mr. Kanok Aroonrasamesopa, Assistant Vice President, Human Resources & Administration Division (Training & Development) of SSI to be Assistant Vice President, Office of the President and Vice President, General Administration Division of TCRSS, and Mrs. Wanna Tangcharoenching, Assistant Vice President of Commercial Division 3 (Slab Procurement) and Acting Vice President of Commercial Division 2 to be Vice President of Commercial Division 2. Effective from January 1, 2009.
During this occasion, Mr. Win Viriyaprapaikit, President of SSI together with the management team and SSI officers jointly congregated to congratulate 4 newly appointed executives on December 19, 2008 at the hall of the 2nd floor of Prapawit Building.
