SSI Collaborated with Ministry of Science and Technology on Metal Research Work by Using Synchrotron Light

Mr. Thavorn Cananub, Assistant Vice President – Manufacturing Division (Planning & Logistic Operations), Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) signed a memorandum of understanding on academic and technical training support for analysis, inspection and test by using synchrotron light including research and development support on metallurgy-materials by using benefits from synchrotron light with Dr. Prayoon Songsiririthigul, Acting Director, Synchrotron Light Research institute (Public Organization), Ministry of Science and Technology. The objectives for this MOU are to create cooperation on knowledge transfer to industrial sectors where knowledge gained shall be used to develop products and resolve manufacturing procedures in order to strengthen competitiveness of the Thai metal industrial operators as well as to enhance its advancement based on science and technology knowledge. Mr. Surachet Vaearsae, Asisitant Minister of Science and Technology witnessed this MOU signing ceremony.

นายถาวร คณานับ ผู้จัดการทั่วไปสายการผลิตด้านวางแผนผลิต บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี (SSI) ร่วมลงนามในบันทึกข้อตกลงความร่วมมือสนับสนุนทางวิชาการและการฝึกอบรมเทคนิคการวิเคราะห์ ตรวจสอบและทดสอบโดยใช้แสงซินโครตรอน และสนับสนุนการวิจัยและพัฒนาทางด้านโลหะ-วัสดุ โดยใช้ประโยชน์จากแสงซินโครตรอน กับ ดร.ประยูร ส่งสิริฤทธิกุล รักษาการผู้อำนวยการสถาบันวิจัยแสงซินโครตรอน (องค์การมหาชน) กระทรวงวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี เพื่อให้เกิดความร่วมมือด้านการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้สู่ภาคอุตสาหกรรม ซึ่งนำจะไปสู่การพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์และแก้ไขกระบวนการผลิตเพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันให้กับผู้ประกอบการอุตสาหกรรมโลหะของไทยให้มีความก้าวหน้า เข้มแข็งบนรากฐานขององค์ความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีในประเทศได้ต่อไป โดยมี นายสุรเชษฐ์ แวอาแซ ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี ร่วมเป็นสักขีพยาน

Sahaviriya Group supports BSP Iron & Steel Technology Institute to develop potential for technician in integrated steel industry.

               Mr. Chollathep Tungkhaothong, Employee Relations Department Manager Sahaviriya Steel Industries PLC or SSI, representative of Sahaviriya Group, recently presented funding support   in an amount of 1,135,960  Baht to  Mr. Surin Nuanrod, Director of Bang Saphan Iron & Steel Technology Institute . The objective is to develop and enhance students’ technical ability to meet the needs of the iron and steel industry. This is one of the cooperation projects between Sahaviriya Group and BangSaphan Iron & Steel Technology Institute.

               นายชลเทพ ตั้งเขาทอง ผู้จัดการฝ่ายพนักงานสัมพันธ์และสวัสดิการเป็นตัวแทนเครือสหวิริยา มอบงบประมาณ จำนวน 1,135,960 บาท (หนึ่งล้านหนึ่งแสนสามหมื่นห้าพันเก้าร้อยหกสิบบาทสนับสนุนโครงการวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีการจัดการเหล็กและเหล็กกล้า บางสะพาน เพื่อพัฒนาขีดความสามารถของนักศึกษาให้สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของอุตสาหกรรมเหล็กและเหล็กกล้า โดยมีนายสุรินทร์ นวลรอด ผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยการอาชีพบางสะพาน เป็นผู้รับมอบ ซึ่งโครงการดังกล่าวเป็นความร่วมมือภายใต้โครงการผลิตช่างเทคนิคเพื่ออุตสาหกรรมเหล็กครบวงจร ระหว่าง วิทยาลัยการอาชีพบางสะพานกับเครือสหวิริยา เมื่อเร็วๆนี้

SSI Arsa gives the access to the world of knowledge for the blind.

Mr. Padungsak Pranudomrat, Public & Community Relations Office Manager, Sahaviriya Steel Industries PLC or SSI, representative of the volunteers from “SSI Arsa: Do D in a Day to Help the Blind to Read” project, presented the first set of books (29 soft files) , monetary support for Braille book producing and 500 used books to be produced and printed in Braille letters to the Educational Technology Center for the Blind, Foundation for the Blind in Thailand, under the Royal Patronage of H.M. the Queen, Pakkred District, Nonthaburi Province.

This project is one of many projects initiated by SSI to cultivate the giving spirit on sharing happiness to the society particularly to the less privileged people. There were 99 SSI staffs and public participate in manuscript producing of 41 books.

เอสเอสไออาสาเปิดโลกความรู้ผู้พิการทางสายตา

นายผดุงศักดิ์ ปราณอุดมรัตน์ ผู้จัดการสำนักประชาสัมพันธ์และชุมชนสัมพันธ์ บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี หรือเอสเอสไอ เป็นตัวแทนอาสาสมัครพนักงานจากโครงการ “เอสเอสไออาสา: Do D in a Day ช่วยคนตาบอดได้อ่านหนังสือ” มอบหนังสือที่จัดพิมพ์ขึ้นในรูปแบบ Soft File สำหรับผลิตเป็นหนังสือเบรลล์ให้กับผู้พิการทางสายตาได้อ่านชุดแรกจำนวน 29 เล่ม พร้อมมอบเงินสมทบทุนสำหรับการผลิตฯ และกระดาษหน้าที่สาม (Reuse) จำนวนกว่า 500 เล่ม สำหรับการจดบันทึกอักษรเบรลล์ แก่ศูนย์เทคโนโลยีการศึกษาเพื่อคนตาบอด มูลนิธิช่วยคนตาบอดแห่งประเทศไทย ในพระบรมราชินูปถัมภ์ ณ ศูนย์เทคโนโลยีการศึกษาเพื่อคนตาบอด อำเภอปากเกร็ด จ.นนทบุรี

โครงการดังกล่าวนับเป็นอีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมที่เอสเอสไอจัดขึ้นเพื่อปลูกจิตสำนึกของพนักงานในการแบ่งปันความสุขสู่สังคมโดยการร่วมกันบำเพ็ญประโยชน์สาธารณะ โดยเฉพาะการช่วยเหลือกลุ่มผู้ด้อยโอกาสในรูปแบบต่างๆ กิจกรรมดังกล่าวมีอาสาสมัครทั้งพนักงานของเอสเอสไอ และ ประชาชน เข้าร่วมโครงการ 99 คน มีเป้าหมายในการผลิตต้นฉบับหนังสือเพื่อผู้พิการทางสายตา 41 เล่ม

The Winners of “Thailand Steel House Contest 2010” to Receive the Royal Trophies

On behalf of Co-organizer of “Thailand Steel House Contest 2010” ,Dr. Wikrom Vajragupta, Director of the Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand and Mr. Taweesak Senanarong, Director of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company or SSI led the jury and representative of support organizations i.e. Siam Yamato Steel Co.,Ltd., The Siam United Steel (1995) Co.,Ltd.to have an audience with HRH Princess Maha Chakri Siridhorn and present money for her personal disposition including to lead the winners of Thailand Steel House Contest 2010, both in the professional level and student level to receive the royal trophies.

This “Thailand Steel House Contest 2010” project to win the royal trophy from HRH Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is a collaboration project between The Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand and Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited or SSI, Associated with entrepreneur of Steel Industry, The famous educational institutions Of Architecture ,Engineering, Metal Science. with aims to create more innovations concerning steel under ‘Innovative Living Steel’ concept. This contest was divided into 2 levels; professional and student. There were 319 teams which comprised of architects and students interested and participated in this activity.

The team who won the first prize award in the professional level is ‘Reanlek Team’, comprising of Mr. Mr.Sarawut Kaepimai, Mr.Atipoo Sastura, Mr.Bordin Tangsilapaolarn, Mr.Nathapong Polchiangdee and Mr.Thanakorn Prongjarearn for their marvelous ‘BEE’ work. While the first prize winner in the student level is ‘STU77 Tearm’, comprising of Mr.Satira Sivhaporn, Mr.Thanatcha Tangamornsiri and Mr.Ohm Kongwanichayapong, from Chula Chulalongkorn University for their outstanding ‘Wentle House’ work.

โครงการประกวดออกแบบบ้านเหล็ก “Thailand Steel House Contest 2010” ชิงถ้วยพระราชทาน สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี จัดขึ้นโดยสถาบันเหล็ก และเหล็กกล้าแห่งประเทศไทย ร่วมกับ บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ ร่วมด้วยผู้ประกอบการอุตสาหกรรมเหล็ก และสถาบันการศึกษาที่มีชื่อเสียงด้าน สถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ วิศวกรรมศาสตร์ โลหะศาสตร์ เพื่อสนับสนุนการสร้างสรรค์นวัตกรรมใหม่ๆ เกี่ยวกับเหล็กได้เพิ่มมากขึ้น ภายใต้แนวคิด “บ้านเหล็ก…นวัตกรรมที่อยู่อาศัยแห่งอนาคต” โดยแบ่งการประกวดออกเป็น 2 ประเภท ได้แก่ ระดับวิชาชีพ และระดับนักศึกษา ซึ่งได้รับความสนใจจากทั้งสถาปนิก และนิสิต นักศึกษา สมัครเข้าร่วมโครงการ 319 ทีม

สำหรับทีมที่ได้รับได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศและเข้ารับถ้วยรางวัลพระราชทานฯ ในระดับวิชาชีพ ได้แก่ “ทีมเรือนเหล็ก” ประกอบด้วย นาย ศราวุธ แคพิมาย นาย อธิภู ศัสตุระ นาย บดินทร์ ตั้งศิลปโอฬาร นาย ณัฐพงษ์ พลเชียงดี นายธนากรณ์ โปร่งเจริญ จากการส่งผลงาน “ ผึ้ง” เข้าร่วมประกวด และรางวัลชนะเลิศระดับนักศึกษาได้แก่ “ทีม STU77” ประกอบด้วย นายสถิร ศิวพร นายธนัชชา ตั้งอมรศิริ นายโอห์ม คงวาณิชยะพงษ์ จากคณะสถาปัตยกรรม จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย จากการส่งผลงาน “บ้านหอย” เข้าร่วมประกวด

SSI Makes New Record on Highest HRC Shipment at 2.24 million tons in 2010 among Thai Steel Companies

SSI has exceeded the shipment at 2.24 million tons in 2010, the highest among Thai steel companies, due to the strong domestic demand- obtaining 22 new customers and focusing on sales of Premium Value Products The Company’s accumulated shipment of HRC exceed 23.53 million tons.

Mr. Win Viriyaprapaikit, President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries PLC (“SSI”) revealed that in 2010, SSI has constantly been strengthening its position as the market leader of high-grade steel sheet in Thailand. The company hit a new record of annual shipment at 2.24 million tons, which is close to 2010 sales volume target 2.30 million tons, the highest record year in terms of sales volume beating its previous record of 1.95 million tons in 2003.  This sales volume is also the highest  among Thai steel companies.  Since starting operation in 1994, SSI hot rolled coil’s accumulated shipment as of 31 December 2010 was about 23.53 million tons.

SSI’S President said that despite weakness in the global steel market in 2010, SSI achieved the highest record of shipment due to the strong domestic demand and the company’s relentless focus on innovating value for its customer.  It has obtained 8 new customers while expanding sales of Premium Value Products which accounted for 40% of total sales volume.  SSI successfully delivered 14 new products into the market.  In addition, the purchase of the Teesside Cast Products transaction with Corus (the agreed purchase price is USD 500 million) will benefit to stability in securing raw materials to SSI resulting in an increase of production volume up to 3 million tons in 2012.

 

เอสเอสไอส่งมอบสินค้าปี2553 สูงสุดของประเทศ  2.24 ล้านตัน

เอสเอสไอทำสถิติส่งมอบผลิตภัณฑ์เหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วน 2.24 ล้านตัน สูงสุดต่อปีรายแรกของบริษัทเหล็กไทย เน้นผลักดันการขายตลาดในประเทศ และ ผลิตภัณฑ์นวัตกรรม  เผยยอดส่งมอบสะสมปี 2537-2553 รวม 23.53 ล้านตัน

นายวิน วิริยประไพกิจ กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี หรือ เอสเอสไอ เปิดเผยว่าในปี 2553 ที่ผ่านมา เอสเอสไอ ยังคงความเป็นผู้นำในตลาดเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนของประเทศที่เติบโตต่อเนื่อง โดย บริษัทมีปริมาณส่งมอบเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนให้กับลูกค้าสูงสุดต่อปี 2,24 ล้านตัน  ใกล้เคียงกับเป้าหมายที่กำหนดไว้ที่ 2.3 ล้านตัน นับเป็นสถิติสูงสุดและเป็นรายแรกของบริษัทเหล็กของคนไทย รวมถึงเป็นปีที่บริษัทสามารถจำหน่ายผลิตภัณฑ์เหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนได้สูงสุดเป็นประวัติการณ์ จากสถิติปริมาณการส่งมอบสูงสุดต่อปี 1.95 ล้านตัน เมื่อปี 2546 สำหรับยอดการส่งมอบผลิตภัณฑ์สะสมนับตั้งแต่บริษัทเริ่มดำเนินการผลิตและส่งมอบในปี 2537 จนถึงวันที่ 31ธันวาคม 2553  รวมทั้งสิ้น 23.53 ล้านตัน

นายวินกล่าวว่าท่ามกลางอุตสาหกรรมเหล็กที่อยู่ในภาวะผันผวนในปี 2553 บริษัทยังสามารถทำสถิติส่งมอบผลิตภัณฑ์เหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนได้สูงสุด เนื่องจากมีการผลักดันการขายตลาดภายในประเทศที่มีความต้องการใช้สูงและความมุ่งมั่นของบริษัทในนวัตกรรมที่สร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มให้กับลูกค้า โดยบริษัทมีลูกค้าใหม่เพิ่มขึ้นทั้งปี 8 ราย พร้อมกับเน้นการขายผลิตภัณฑ์นวัตกรรมที่มีมูลค่าเพิ่มกับลูกค้า (Premium Value Products) หรือคิดเป็นร้อยละ 40 จากปริมาณการขายรวม และประสบความสำเร็จในการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์เหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนใหม่ตอบสนองความต้องการของลูกค้า 14ชนิด นอกจากนี้ ยังคาดว่าหลังจากการซื้อสินทรัพย์โรงงานถลุงเหล็ก Teesside Cast Products (TCP) ของ Corus มูลค่าประมาณ 500 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐสำเร็จ เอสเอสไอจะมีเสถียรภาพในการจัดหาวัตถุดิบเพื่อใช้ในกระบวนการผลิต ทำให้ปริมาณการผลิตและขายที่เพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 3 ล้านตันในปี 2555
