Nine youths from Bangsaphan Youth Triathlon Team, under Bangsaphan Youth Triathlon Dream Project, competed in Sahaviriya Bangkok Triathlon 2013, together with Sahaviriya Team and athletes from 36 countries. A total of 632 athletes competed in the Triathlon. The youths competed in short course competition which consisted of 850 meters swimming, 27 kilometers biking, and 5 kilometers running, at Suan Luang Rama 8, Bangkok.
The team is a representative of Bangsaphan Youth. After joining Bangsaphan Youth Triathlon Dream Project, under Sahaviriya support, they were recruited to be in the team. The project was launched in 2011 in order to encourage young people in Bangsaphan to participate in sport, stay away from drugs, and support youth to compete in international triathlon competitions. Sahaviriya Group has hired professional triathlon athletes from Triathlon Association of Thailand, Thailand national triathlon team and Sahaviriya Triathlon team to train the youths with basic triathlon skills (swimming, cycling, running).
Bangsaphan Youth Triathlon Team currently consists of 9 people, including 4 youths from Bangsaphan Youth Triathlon Team Generation I and 5 youths from Bangsaphan Youth Triathlon Team Generation II.
ทีมเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพานลงแข่งขันสหวิริยากรุงเทพไตรกีฬา
ทีมเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน ภายใต้โครงการสานฝันเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน ลงแข่งขันไตรกีฬาในรายการสหวิริยากรุงเทพไตรกีฬา 2556 ร่วมกับนักไตรกีฬาทีมสหวิริยา และนักไตรกีฬาจาก 36 ประเทศทั่วโลกจำนวน 632 คน โดยทีมเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพานลงแข่งขันในระยะ Short Course ซึ่งประกอบไปด้วย ว่ายน้ำ 850 เมตร ปั่นจักรยาน 27 กิโลเมตร และวิ่ง 5 กิโลเมตร ณ สวนหลวงพระราม 8 กรุงเทพมหานคร
ทีมไตรกีฬาซึ่งเป็นตัวแทนเยาวชนบางสะพานนี้ผ่านการคัดเลือกจากเยาวชนที่สมัครเข้าร่วมโครงการสานฝันเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน โดยการสนับสนุนของเครือสหวิริยา ที่ริเริ่มจัดโครงการขึ้นในปี 2554 เพื่อร่วมส่งเสริมการพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านการกีฬาของเยาวชนในท้องถิ่นปลูกจิตสำนึกให้เยาวชนหันมาใส่ใจกีฬา และห่างไกลสิ่งเสพติด พร้อมทั้งสร้างสรรค์การมีส่วนร่วมของเยาวชนบางสะพานในการก้าวสู่การแข่งขันไตรกีฬาระดับนานาชาติ โดยเครือสหวิริยาได้จัดสอนทักษะไตรกีฬาโดยโค้ชจากสมาคมไตรกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทย นักไตรกีฬาทีมชาติ และนักไตรกีฬาทีมสหวิริยา รวมถึงสนับสนุนอุปกรณ์แข่งขันให้แก่เยาวชนที่ผ่านการคัดเลือก
ปัจจุบันทีมเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน มีสมาชิกจำนวน 9 คน ประกอบด้วย ทีมเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน รุ่น 1 จำนวน 4 คน และทีมเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพานรุ่น 2 จำนวน 5 คน
On 25 July 2013, SSI Bangsaphan Plant of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc or “SSI,” the ASEAN’s largest fully-integrated flat steel producer, achieved an important milestone when 29 million of cumulative tons of hot-rolled steel sheet in coil (HRC) production were reached. SSI Bangsaphan started its operation with a designed capacity of 4 million tons per year in 1994. The mill produces and supplies premium-grade steel sheets to cater to the region’s growing demand in various sectors such as automobile, energy, transportation and construction sectors.
