The 5th SSI Beach Clean-Up for World Environment Day 2013

Mr. Nava Chantanasurakon, Vice President -Public Affairs and Social Responsibility of Sahaviriya Steel Industries PCL (SSI) together with more than 901 people, including SSI’s executives, staffs, Mae Rumphueng Sub District Administration Organization, entrepreneurs and local people in Mae Rumphueng, joined “SSI Beach Clean-Up,” by cleaning 3 kilometers of Mae Rumphueng beach and beautifying the surrounding area on the occasion of the World Environment Day. The purpose of the activities is to reduce global warming and conserve the environment at Mae Rumphueng, Bangsaphan, Prachuap Khiri Khan. The event was presided over by Mr. Suttha Thumumnuaysuk , District Chief Officer.
In addition, in 2013 the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) sets a theme for the World Environment Day “THINK•EAT•SAVE” at Mongolia where there is high growth economy, has unstable food trend and eco-friendly trend has been pushed forward. The theme means “Think before you eat and help save our environment,” which is aimed at encouraging people to realize the important of food and reduce food waste.

นายนาวา จันทนสุรคน ผู้ช่วยกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ นำคณะผู้บริหาร พนักงานเอสเอสไอ ร่วมกับองค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลแม่รำพึง ผู้ประกอบการโรงแรม ร้านค้า และประชาชนในพื้นที่ตำบลแม่รำพึง จำนวนกว่า 901 คน ร่วมกิจกรรมโครงการ “เอสเอสไอ…รักษ์ชายหาด” (SSI Beach Clean-Up) โดยร่วมกันเก็บขยะและปรับปรุงภูมิทัศน์เป็นระยะทางรวมกว่า 3 กิโลเมตร เนื่องในวันสิ่งแวดล้อมโลก 2556 เพื่อส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมในการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม และลดภาวะโลกร้อน ณ ชายหาดแม่รำพึง อ.บางสะพาน จ. ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ โดยมี นายสุทธา ธรรมอำนวยสุข นายอำเภอบางสะพาน ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานเปิดงาน
ในปี 2556 นี้ โครงการสิ่งแวดล้อมสหประชาชาติ (United Nations Environment Programme: UNEP) ได้กำหนดจัดกิจกรรมเนื่องในวันสิ่งแวดล้อมโลกภายใต้หัวข้อ THINK•EAT•SAVE หรือ กิน อยู่ รู้คิด เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม ณ ประเทศมองโกเลีย เมืองที่มีการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจสูง มีแนวโน้มประสบปัญหาความมั่นคงทางอาหาร และมีการผลักดันเศรษฐกิจที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม” เพื่อสื่อสารให้ Think before you eat and help save our environment! กระตุ้นให้ทุกคนตระหนักถึงผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมจากอาหารที่ถูกทิ้งโดยมุ่งกระตุ้นให้ช่วยกันเริ่มต้นที่บ้าน เพื่อลดปริมาณอาหารที่ถูกทิ้ง และผลักดันให้กระบวนการผลิตอาหารมีประสิทธิภาพ

SSI and 2 affiliates, TCRSS and PPC win prestigious National Safety, Occupational Health and Environment 2013 Awards, and underline its belief “Safety First” as the culture of the organization.

SSI Group marks another successful year for its safety performance, occupational health and work environment initiatives, as a result of announcement for winning of the “Outstanding Award for Safety, Occupational Health and Work Environment 2013” from the Department of Labour and Social Welfare, Ministry of Labor. The three companies are 1.Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Plc. (7 consecutive years) 2.Prachuap Port Co. Ltd. (3 consecutive years) 3. Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (2 consecutive years).

SSI also receives the awards for Outstanding Safety, Occupational Health and Working Environment Committee.

The award ceremony will be held in the National Safety Week during 3-5 July 2013 at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).

Mr. Win Viriyaprapaikit, Group CEO and President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) states that “I deeply appreciate and thank all employees and our stakeholders for their continuous efforts to prevent and reduce work-related accidents,and to enhance a good Occupational Health Management and Working Environment. 3 บริษัทกลุ่มเอสเอสไอ TCRSS-PPC-SSI คว้ารางวัลความปลอดภัย อาชีวอนามัย และสภาพแวดล้อมในการทำงานระดับประเทศ ย้ำแนวคิด “ความปลอดภัยต้องมาก่อน” เผยผลสำเร็จจากการพัฒนาประสิทธิภาพการดำเนินงานและเป็นวัฒนธรรมในการปฏิบัติงาน

กรมสวัสดิการและคุ้มครองแรงงาน กระทรวงแรงงาน ประกาศผลประกวดสถานประกอบกิจการดีเด่น ด้านความปลอดภัย อาชีวอนามัย และสภาพแวดล้อมในการทำงานระดับประเทศ ประจําปี2556 ผลปรากฏว่า บริษัทในกลุ่มเอสเอสไอ 3 บริษัท ได้รับรางวัลจากการประกวดดังกล่าวซึ่ง ได้แก่ บริษัท เหล็กแผ่นรีดเย็นไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) (TCRSS) (รางวัลต่อเนื่อง 7 ปี) และบริษัท ท่าเรือประจวบ จำกัด (PPC) (รางวัลต่อเนื่อง 3 ปี) และบริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ (รางวัลต่อเนื่อง2 ปี) รวมทั้งรางวัลคณะกรรมการความปลอดภัย อาชีวอนามัย และสภาพแวดล้อมในการทำงานดีเด่น การจัดการประกวดนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อพัฒนางานด้านอาชีวอนามัยและความปลอดภัยขององค์กร ซึ่งทั้งหมดจะมีการรับมอบรางวัลในงานสัปดาห์ความปลอดภัยแห่งชาติ(National Safety Week ) ในวันที่ 3-5 กรกฏาคม 2556 ณ ศูนย์นิทรรศการและการประชุมไบเทค บางนา

SSI UK set a new record in daily slab production

Sahaviriya Steel Industries UK Limited (SSI UK), a subsidiary of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited (SSI), set a new daily production record on 7th May, with an output of 10,168 tonnes of slabs cast during the 24 hour period.
Phil Dryden, Chief Executive of SSI UK said; “One swallow doesn’t make a summer, but this daily record represents a real milestone. It is the daily production target we will be striving to achieve after the Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) Plant starts up. To demonstrate this kind of production capability prior to the PCI start up is hugely encouraging and is a great indicator of the potential this operation has. I congratulate all of the SSI UK colleagues and particularly the operating teams on their great performance and I am looking forward to us creating further records in the months and years ahead.”

นายฟิล ดรายเดน ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร เอสเอสไอ ยูเค กล่าวว่า “การประสบความสำเร็จในการผลิตสูงสุดต่อวันในครั้งนี้ นับเป็นก้าวสำคัญ เพราะเป็นตัวเลขเป้าหมายการผลิตที่เรากำหนดไว้หากมีการเดินเครื่องอุปกรณ์ PCI (Pulverised Coal Injection) แต่เราสามารถบรรลุเป้าหมายที่ท้าทายนี้ได้ก่อนการเดินเครื่องอุปกรณ์ PCI นอกจากจะเป็นกำลังใจอันยิ่งใหญ่แล้ว ยังเป็นสิ่งชี้วัดสำคัญถึงความสามารถในการผลิตของเรา ผมขอขอบคุณพนักงานของเราทุกคนที่เอสเอสไอ ยูเค โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งทีมดูแลการผลิตซึ่งทำงานได้ดีเยี่ยม และคาดหวังจะได้เห็นความสำเร็จและการทำลายสถิติเช่นนี้อีกในอนาคตข้างหน้านี้”
