SSI reached the highest record with 28 million tons of cumulative HRC production on 8 February 2013 after continuous production and shipment to serve customers’ strong domestic demand, projected to grow 7.2% in 2013. It starts to realize synergy from vertical integration, providing security in its own raw material supply.

Mr. Win Viriyaprapaikit, Group CEO and President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) revealed that on 8 February 2013, SSI Bangsaphan plant, Prachuap Khiri Khan, succeeded in 28 million cumulative tons of hot-rolled steel sheet in coil (HRC) production, the first and highest record among Thai steel companies, which underlines its leadership position in ASEAN. The plant also achieved a record of 12,553 tons of highest daily HRC production on 20 January 2013. In addition, SSI Teesside, UK, which on 18 April 2011 started its steel slab production to supply as raw materials for SSI Bangsaphan, had announced its success in reaching cumulative 2 million tons steel slab production on 31 January 2013.

“These cumulative 28 million tons are the result of our continuous success in terms of production and sales. It attests the synergy from the vertical integration of our Thailand and UK operation, starting with the constant and reliable supply of steel slabs from our SSI Teesside plant to our SSI Bangsaphan plant. We will see from now consistent growth in volume and sales revenue and reducing production cost due to larger economy of scale, as envisaged under our Integrate World Class Steel Business strategy. Furthermore, we will soon begin to see better margin as our products gain market share under our Innovate Premium Value Products strategy.”

In addition, according to Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand, (ISIT), the domestic steel demand in 2013 will be approximately 17.5 million tons, increasing 7.2 % from 16.3 million tons in 2012. This is mainly because of several major infrastructure investment projects of the government and the expansion of downstream industries such as automobile and energy.

          เอสเอสไอทำสถิติผลิตเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนสูงสุดครบ 28 ล้านตัน เมื่อวันที่ 8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2556 จากการผลักดันการผลิตและส่งมอบสินค้าอย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการใช้ของลูกค้าและรองรับการบริโภคเหล็กที่จะเติบโตร้อยละ 7.2 ในปี 2556 เผยผลประโยชน์ร่วมจากการเชื่อมโยงกับธุรกิจต้นน้ำให้มีเหล็กแท่งแบนสนับสนุนการผลิตสม่ำเสมอ
          นายวิน วิริยประไพกิจ ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารกลุ่ม และ กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี หรือ เอสเอสไอ เปิดเผยว่าเมื่อวันที่ 8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2556 โรงงานผลิตเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนของบริษัทที่อำเภอบางสะพาน จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ บรรลุยอดการผลิตเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนสะสมปริมาณ 28 ล้านตัน ซึ่งแสดงถึงความเป็นผู้นำในตลาดเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนของอาเซียน นับเป็นบริษัทเหล็กรายแรกของไทยที่สร้างสถิติยอดการผลิตสะสมสูงสุด หลังจากโรงงานแห่งนี้ทำสถิติในการผลิตเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนสูงสุดต่อวันที่ 12,553 ตัน เมื่อวันที่ 20 มกราคม 2556 ที่ผ่านมา เช่นเดียวกันกับโรงถลุงเหล็กเอสเอสไอ ทีไซด์ ประเทศอังกฤษ ที่เปิดดำเนินการผลิตเหล็กแท่งแบนเมื่อวันที่ 18 เมษายน 2554 เพื่อส่งมาเป็นวัตถุดิบให้โรงงานเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนที่ประเทศไทย ประกาศความสำเร็จ ผลิตเหล็กแท่งแบนสะสมครบ 2 ล้านตัน ไปเมื่อวันที่ 31 มกราคม ที่ผ่านมา
          “ปริมาณการผลิตสะสมสูงสุด 28 ล้านตันนี้ เกิดจากการผลักดันการขายและส่งมอบผลิตภัณฑ์อย่างต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งพิสูจน์ให้เห็นผลประโยชน์ร่วมจากการเชื่อมโยงธุรกิจในแนวดิ่งระหว่างโรงงานในประเทศไทยและประเทศอังกฤษ จากการมีเหล็กแท่งแบนสนับสนุนการผลิตสม่ำเสมอจากโรงงานเอสเอสไอ ทีไซต์ จนมาถึงโรงงานเอสเอสไอ บางสะพาน จากนี้ไปเราจะเห็นปริมาณขายและรายได้ที่เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างสม่ำเสมอ สามารถลดต้นทุนการผลิตจากสเกลธุรกิจที่ใหญ่ขึ้น ด้วยการดำเนินธุรกิจภายใต้กลยุทธ “เสริมสร้างธุรกิจระดับโลก” และเรายังได้เห็นส่วนต่างราคาที่ดีขึ้นจากการขยายตลาดภายใต้กลยุทธ์ “สร้างสรรค์นวัตกรรมผลิตภัณฑ์เหล็กและบริการที่มีมูลค่าเพิ่มให้กับลูกค้า”
          ทั้งนี้ สถาบันเหล็กและเหล็กกล้าแห่งประเทศไทย (สลท.) ประเมินความต้องการใช้เหล็กในประเทศปี 2556 ประมาณ17.5 ล้านตัน เพิ่มขึ้นจากปี 2555 ซึ่งอยู่ที่ 16.3 ล้านตัน หรือเพิ่มขึ้นร้อยละ 7.2 โดยมีปัจจัยหลักจากโครงการลงทุนโครงสร้างพื้นฐานของภาครัฐและการขยายตัวของอุตสาหกรรมต่อเนื่อง อาทิ ยานยนต์ พลังงาน เป็นต้น

SSI supports Ban-Thakham school students in learning business through “Young Agriculturist Project, Hydroponics Farm,”

SSI arranged study tour activities for Ban-Thakham school students to learn marketing by visiting hotel, resorts and restaurants in Bangsaphan. These entrepreneurs (Ban Klang Aow Beach Resort, Ban Grood Arcadia, Keeree Waree Seaside Villa & Spa) needed vegetable as primary cooking ingredients for their kitchens. The students delivered ordered hydroponic vegetable and publicized the “Young Agriculturist Project, Hydroponics Farm. This not only increased more channels to sell hydroponic vegetable from the project, but it was also helped students to learn marketing and communication. The activities were well received from hotel, resort and restaurant entrepreneurs in Bangsaphan, as the project has helped students to gain additional income by themselves. Moreover, these entrepreneurs were interested in visiting Ban-Thakham school to see the hydroponic vegetable project. SSI hoped that this project will be a good place for tourists both Thai people and foreigners.

เอสเอสไอ ฝึกทักษะธุรกิจให้เยาวชนบ้านท่าขามผ่านโครงการปลูกผักไฮโดรโปนิกส์

เอสเอสไอได้นำเยาวชนโรงเรียนบ้านท่าขาม ฝึกทักษะธุรกิจด้านการตลาด โดยเดินทางไปพบปะผู้ประกอบการโรงแรม รีสอร์ท และร้านอาหารในพื้นที่อำเภอบางสะพาน เช่น บ้านกลางอ่าว บีช รีสอร์ท บ้านกรูดอคาเดีย คีรีวารีรีสอร์ท เป็นต้น ผู้ประกอบการเหล่านี้ต่างใช้ผักเป็นส่วนประกอบสำคัญในการปรุงอาหารบริการลูกค้า โดยขั้นต้นได้นำผักไฮโดรโปนิกส์ไปส่งยังราชาวดี บ้านกรูด รีสอร์ท ตามคำสั่งซื้อ และได้ทำการประชาสัมพันธ์โครงการยุวเกษตรอินทรีย์ปลูกผักปลอดสารพิษไฮโดรโปนิกส์ ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นการศึกษาช่องทางด้านการตลาดการจำหน่ายผักไฮโดรโปนิกส์ เยาวชนเรียนรู้ทักษะธุรกิจโดยมีทีมชุมชนสัมพันธ์เอสเอสไอ เป็นพี่เลี้ยง ซึ่งได้รับการตอบรับเป็นอย่างดีจากผู้ประกอบการโรงแรม รีสอร์ท และร้านอาหารในพื้นที่ ในการที่จะสนับสนุนกลุ่มยุวเกษตรฯ ให้มีรายได้ระหว่างเรียนหนังสือ รวมไปถึงให้ความสนใจในการเดินทางมาศึกษาดูงานโครงการยุวเกษตรอินทรีย์ที่โรงเรียนบ้านท่าขาม เพื่อที่จะเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวให้กับนักท่องเที่ยวคนไทย และต่างชาติที่สนใจ ต่อไป

SSI UK achieves 2 million tonnes of slab production

SSI UK, a subsidiary of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited (SSI), has announced today that its iron and steel making facility at Teesside has now produced two million tonnes of steel since the plant was restarted in April last year.

Phil Dryden, Chief Executive of SSI UK said;

“This is another important milestone for the plant which continues to operate reliably and is a credit to all of our employees and contract personnel who are committed to its success. We are looking forward to a further significant ramping up of our production rate during the course of 2013 after the coal injection project starts up.

It’s really important that we now demonstrate the potential of this business to our parent company and all of the stakeholders who have supported us during the past year”

เอสเอสไอ ยูเค ประสบความสำเร็จผลิตเหล็กแท่งแบนครบ 2 ล้านตัน

โรงถลุงเหล็กเอสเอสไอ ทีไซด์ประกาศความสำเร็จ ผลิตเหล็กแท่งแบนสะสมครบ 2 ล้านตัน หลังจากเปิดดำเนินการผลิตเมื่อเดือนเมษายน 2554 ที่ผ่านมา

นายฟิล ดรายเดน ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร บริษัทบริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี ยูเค จำกัด (เอสเอสไอ ยูเค) ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทย่อยของบริษัทสหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ เปิดเผยว่า “นับเป็นก้าวย่างที่สำคัญอีกครั้งหนึ่งของโรงถลุงเหล็กเอสเอสไอ ทีไซด์ และเป็นความสำเร็จของพนักงาน รวมถึงผู้มีส่วนได้เสียทุกคนที่ได้มีส่วนร่วมในการบรรลุการผลิตเหล็กแท่งแบนครบ 2 ล้านตันในครั้งนี้ เราทุกคนที่นี่ยินดีและคาดหวังจะได้เห็นความสำเร็จในการผลิตในปี 2556 หลังจากที่โรงงานกลับมาเปิดดำเนินการผลิตอีกครั้งในปีที่แล้ว”

SSI to reach 2.7 MT of HRC sales by 2013

Mr. Win Viriyaprapaikit, Group CEO and President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI), recently presided over the “Goal Program Presentation 2013.” More than 100 executives joined the event and presented each department’s goals and strategies for 2013. SSI targeted to achieve 2.7 million tons of HRC sales and production within this year, to respond to the increase of steel demand driven by resilient domestic economy, government investment spending and growth in key industries such as automobile, energy and construction. The event was held at the Auditorium of Thammasat Association under the Royal Patronage of H.M. the King on 26 January 2013.

Iron Man helps children in the south

Mr. Nava Chantanasurakhon, Vice President, Public Affairs and Social Responsibility Division of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI), as a representative of Iron Man Mini Marathon’s 4 organizers (Sahaviriya Steel Industries PLC (SSI), Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Plc.(TCRSS), BlueScope Steel (Thailand) Ltd. (BSL) and The Siam United Steel (1995) Co., Ltd.) handed over THB 100,000 fund raised from “The 5^th Thailand Iron Man Mini Marathon 2012” to Modern Nine TV to support “Add More Smiles to the Children in the South” project. This project aimed at supporting educational tools, sport equipments, clothes, etc. for children, young people, monks, and both Buddhist and Muslim people in the 3 southern provinces where conflicts have occurred.
