SSI has exceeded the shipment at 2 million tons in this year, becoming the first steel company to reach the 2 million-ton annual sales in Thailand despite market fluctuation. The company’s accumulated shipment of HRC to exceed 23.29 million tons.
Mr. Win Viriyaprapaikit, President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries PLC (“SSI”) revealed that despite global economic crisis and difficult steel market, SSI has constantly been strengthening its position as the market leader of high-grade steel sheet in Thailand. Lately, the company hit a new record of annual shipment at 2 million tons on 20 November 2010, beating its previous record of 1.95 million tons in 2003. The company has reviewed 2010 sales projection downwards to 2.3 million tons due to slowdown in global economic recovery. However, 2010 will be still the highest record year in terms of sales volume. Starting in 1994, SSI hot rolled coil ‘s accumulated shipment as of 20 November 2010 was about 23,296,633 tons.
“The new shipment record proved a progressive step of the company’s achievement, with which we begin our journey towards SSI’s new vision – ‘Innovate premium value steel products and services for customer; generate consistent profit and sustainable value for stakeholders’. เอสเอสไอส่งมอบสินค้าปีนี้ทะลุ 2 ล้านตันแล้ว
เอสเอสไอทำสถิติส่งมอบผลิตภัณฑ์เหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนถึง 2,000,000 ตันแล้ว และเป็นยอดสูงสุดต่อปีรายแรกของประเทศสวนกระแสอุตสาหกรรมเหล็กที่ยังไม่ฟื้นตัว เผยยอดส่งมอบสะสม 17 ปี 23.29 ล้านตัน
นายวิน วิริยประไพกิจ กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี หรือ เอสเอสไอ เปิดเผยว่า ท่ามกลางภาวะอุตสาหกรรมกรรมเหล็กที่ซบเซา ราคาเหล็กในตลาดโลกยังปรับตัวขึ้นช้ากว่าต้นทุนวัตถุดิบ ซึ่งส่งผลผู้ประกอบการอุตสาหกรรมได้รับผลกระทบถ้วนหน้า เอสเอสไอ ยังคงความเป็นผู้นำในตลาดเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนของประเทศที่เติบโตต่อเนื่อง โดยล่าสุดในวันที่ 20 พฤศจิกายน 2553 บริษัทมีปริมาณส่งมอบเหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนให้กับลูกค้าสูงสุดต่อปี 2,000,000ตัน และเป็นสถิติสูงสุดของบริษัทเหล็กของคนไทย จากสถิติปริมาณการส่งมอบสูงสุดต่อปี 1,951,365 ตัน เมื่อปี 2546 ทั้งนี้จากการชะลอตัวของภาวะเศรษฐกิจโลกบริษัทจึงได้ปรับเป้าจำหน่ายผลิตภัณฑ์เหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนในปี 2553 เป็น 2.3 ล้านตัน อย่างไรก็ตาม ปี 2553 นี้จะยังคงเป็นปีที่บริษัทสามารถจำหน่ายผลิตภัณฑ์เหล็กแผ่นรีดร้อนชนิดม้วนได้สูงสุดเป็นประวัติการณ์ สำหรับยอดการส่งมอบผลิตภัณฑ์สะสมนับตั้งแต่บริษัทเริ่มดำเนินการผลิตและส่งมอบในปี 2537จนถึงวันที่ 20 พฤศจิกายน 2553 รวมทั้งสิ้น 23,296,633 ตัน

Sahaviriya Steel Industries PCL, or SSI joined hands with the Harbor Department arranged “The 2nd Silp Sarn Fun Pun Namjai – SSI Chaun Nong Rak Nam” (or literally meant “Art and Sharing – SSI invited youth to conserve water), by inviting about 70 youth under custody of 5 associates, welfare institutes and foundations to ride Chao Phraya express boats at the port of the Harbor Department. The objectives were to learn about environmental and natural conservation along the banks of Chao Phraya River, waterway transportation safety, fish releasing activity and drawing contest under the title of “Waterfront Lifestyle”. The award winning works will be selected to compete in the 41st International Children’s Drawing Contest in Tokyo, Japan.
The “Silp Sarn Fun Pun Namjai – SSI Chaun Nong Rak Nam” is one of an integrated operation under SSI’s corporate social responsibility scheme with the good collaboration between government agencies; The Harbor Department and Bangkok metropolis, and private sector; Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc or (SSI) and the Chao Phraya Express Boat Co.,Ltd. With this cooperation, the activity can, therefore, be continuously organized in order to fulfill a good experience for less privileged children like any normal children as they are also the important human resources.
