Dr. Maruey Phadoongsidhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc, or SSI, led the management team and SSI staff to sign get-well messages and to wish His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej a quick recovery and a long life at the 100 Year Memorial Building of the Princess Mother, Siriraj Hospital, where His Majesty is receiving treatment.

SSI Received CSR-DIW Awards
Mr. Jira Chotinuchit, Vice President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited or SSI, received a token of appreciation and certificate on compliance with Corporate Social Responsibility standards (CSR-DIW) from Mr. Witoon Simachokdee, director-general of the Industrial Works Department on behalf of SSI at Grand Ballroom, Century Park Hotel, Bangkok. This award presentation is one of encouraging activities under 2009 Corporate Social Responsibility Project arranged by Department of Industrial Works and Management System Certification Institute (MASCI).
SSI participated in CSR-DIW Project not only to make a good understanding to staff on their role with CSR, but also to show the company’s intention in corporate social and community responsibility.

นายจิร โชตินุชิต ผู้ช่วยกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ เป็นผู้แทนบริษัทฯ รับมอบโล่และเกียรติบัตรการปฏิบัติตามมาตรฐานความรับผิดชอบของผู้ประกอบการอุตสาหกรรมต่อสังคม (CSR-CIW) จากนายวิฑูรย์ สิมะโชคดี อธิบดีกรมโรงงานอุตสาหกรรม ในโครงการสนับสนุนให้ผู้ประกอบการมีความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคม ประจำปี 2552 ซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดย กรมโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมร่วมกับสถาบันรับรองมาตรฐานไอเอสโอ ณ ห้องแกรนด์บอลรูม โรงแรมเซ็นต์จูรี่พาร์ค กรุงเทพฯ เอสเอสไอเข้าร่วมโครงการ CSR DIW ในปีนี้โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้พนักงานได้รับความรู้ความเข้าใจและตระหนักถึงบทบาทการมีส่วนร่วมต่อการดำเนินงานความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคม และยังเป็นการตอกย้ำเจตนารมย์ในการเป็นสถานประกอบการที่ให้ความสำคัญต่อการมีความรับผิดชอบต่อชุมชน สังคม อีกด้วย
SSI Participated in “Follow Mother’s Footsteps to Preserve Thai Seas” Project
Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited or SSI joined hands with Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand, Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University arranged “Follow Mother’s Footstep to Preserve Thai Seas: Thai Steel to Conserve Environment” activities by planting almost 900 staghorn corals and coral submassive by using steel structure at Koh Lan, Chonburi Province. These structures shall be served as living areas of fish and aquatic animals as well as replaced underwater ecological system which has been damaged. At the same time, by using steels which are regarded as industrial materials as main structure for planting corals, it can be signified that steel can live with nature.
“Follow Mother’s Footstep to Preserve Thai Seas: Thai Steel to Conserve Environment” Project has been arranged by Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand with aims to make the most benefits of steels to revive Thai Seas including to cultivate consciousness mind for natural and marine environmental preservation to Thai youth.
เอสเอสไอร่วมโครงการ ตามรอยแม่ ดูแลทะเลไทย
บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือเอสเอสไอ ร่วมกับ สถาบันเหล็กและเหล็กกล้าแห่งประเทศไทย ภาควิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ทางทะเล คณะประมง มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์จัดกิจกรรม “ตามรอยแม่ ดูแลทะเลไทย: เหล็กไทยร่วมใจรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม” โดยการร่วมปลูกปะการังด้วยโครงเหล็ก ทั้งปะการังเขากวาง และปะการังพุ่ม รวม 900 กิ่ง บนเกาะล้าน จังหวัดชลบุรี เพื่อให้เป็นแหล่งอนุบาลปลาและสัตว์น้ำและทดแทนระบบนิเวศใต้ทะเลที่ถูกทำลาย และขณะเดียวกันการใช้เหล็กที่เป็นวัสดุอุตสาหกรรมเป็นโครงสร้างหลักในการปลูกปะการังเพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่าเหล็กสามารถอยู่ร่วมกับธรรมชาติได้ โครงการ “ตามรอยแม่ ดูแลทะเลไทย: เหล็กไทยร่วมใจรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม” ดำเนินการโดยสถาบันเหล็กและเหล็กกล้าแห่งประเทศไทย เพื่อเป็นการนำเหล็กไปใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด และเป็นการฟื้นฟูท้องทะเลไทยพร้อมทั้งสร้างจิตสำนึกในการรักธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมทางทะเลให้แก่เยาวชนไทยต่อไป
SSI Received Environmental Governance Certificate
Mr. Soonthorn Wasansaerekul, Assistant Vice President, Manufacturing Division of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited or SSI, received an Environmental Governance Certificate from Mr. Kosol Jairangsee, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry. This certificate has been presented to all entrepreneurs who passed environmental governance criteria under the campaign project to promote an implementation of environmental governance for 2009. The presentation ceremony was held by Ministry of Industry at Grand Ballroom, Century Park Hotel.
In addition, other companies within SSI Group of Companies which also received the certificates under this criterion are Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Public Company Limited, Bangsaphan Barmill Public Company Limited (BSBM), West Coast Engineering Company Limited (WCE) and Thai Coated Steel Sheet Company Limited (TCS).

นายสุนทร วสันต์เสรีกุล ผู้จัดการทั่วไปสายการผลิต บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ รับมอบเกียรติบัตรแก่ผู้ประกอบการที่ผ่านเกณฑ์ธรรมาภิบาลสิ่งแวดล้อม จาก นายโกศล ใจรังษี รองปลัดกระทรวงอุตสาหกรรม ในโครงการรณรงค์และส่งเสริมการใช้ระบบธรรมาภิบาลสิ่งแวดล้อม ปี 2552 ซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดยกระทรวงอุตสาหกรรม ณ ห้องแกรนด์บอลรูม โรงแรมเซ็นต์จูรี่พาร์ค กรุงเทพฯ นอกจากนี้ยังมีบริษัทในกลุ่มเอสเอสไอที่ได้รับการคัดเลือกให้รับเกียรติบัตรแก่ผู้ประกอบการที่ผ่านเกณฑ์ธรรมาภิบาลสิ่งแวดล้อมอีก 4 แห่ง ได้แก่ บริษัท เหล็กแผ่นรีดเย็นไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) (TCRSS) บริษัท บางสะพานบาร์มิล จำกัด (มหาชน) (BSBM) บริษัท เวสท์โคสท์ เอ็นจิเนียริ่ง จำกัด (WCE) และบริษัท เหล็กแผ่นเคลือบไทย จำกัด (TCS)
