Mr. Kittisak Mapanao, Senior Deputy Managing Director, West Coast Engineering Company Limited, a subsidiary of SSI, a business operator on maintenance, engineering works and various kinds of project works said that the Company has expanded the scope of work on engineering project for foreign customers. For the past year (2008), the Company has been entrusted by SMS Meer Company Limited from Germany, a manufacturer of machinery for the world’s leading steel manufacturing plants, to manufacture and assemble spare parts of machinery and rolls at volume of 750 tons of structural steel rolling machine to be installed at Siam Yamato Steel Company Limited, Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong Province. Before that in 2007, the Company has been assigned by DMS Company Limited from France, the world’s leading manufacturer of stainless steel manufacturing machinery to manufacture spare parts and install machinery including all piping system of Sendzimir Cold Rolling Mill No. 3, which is the latest model of stainless steel rolling machine to Thainox Stainless Public Company Limited, Rayong Province and it can start up its production since the past year.

West Coast Engineering Company Limited is located on areas of 46 rai in Sahaviriya Steel Group, Bang Saphan, Prachuap Khirikhan Province, about 4 kilometers far from Prachuap Port, which is an international deep seaport. นายกิตติศักดิ์ มาพะเนาว์ รองกรรมการผู้จัดการ อาวุโส บริษัท เวสท์โคสท์ เอ็นจิเนียริ่ง จำกัด ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทย่อยของเอสเอสไอ ผู้ดำเนินธุรกิจบริการงานด้านซ่อมบำรุง งานวิศวกรรม และงานโครงการทุกแขนง เปิดเผยว่า บริษัทได้ขยายขอบเขตงานวิศวกรรมโครงการกับลูกค้าต่างชาติ โดยในปี 2551 ที่ผ่านมาได้รับความไว้วางใจจากบริษัท เอส เอ็ม เอส เมียร์ ประเทศเยอรมัน ผู้ผลิตเครื่องจักรสำหรับโรงงานผลิตเหล็กชั้นนำของโลก ให้ดำเนินการผลิตและประกอบชิ้นส่วนเครื่องจักรกลและลูกรีด ปริมาณงาน 750 ตัน ของเครื่องรีดเหล็กรูปพรรณ ซึ่งใช้ติดตั้งที่บริษัท เหล็กสยามยามาโตะ จำกัด นิคมอุตสาหกรรมมาบตาพุด จ.ระยองและก่อนหน้านี้ในปี 2550 ยังได้รับความไว้วางใจจากบริษัท ดี เอ็ม เอส ประเทศฝรั่งเศส ผู้ผลิต เครื่องจักรสำหรับโรงงานผลิตสเตนเลส ชั้นนำของโลก ให้ดำเนินการผลิตชิ้นส่วน และติดตั้งเครื่องจักร พร้อมระบบงานท่อทั้งหมด ของเครื่องรีดสเตนเลสรุ่นใหม่ล่าสุด Sendzimir Cold Rolling Mill No.3 ให้กับบริษัท ไทยน๊อคซ์ สเตนเลส จำกัด (มหาชน) จ. ระยอง และสามารถเดินเครื่องผลิตได้ในปีที่ผ่านมา
