“Bangsaphan Triathlon Thailand Championship & International Championship” is getting ready to challenge triathletes on August 7, 2011 at Bangsaphan District, Prachuab Khirikhan Province. Triathlon Association of Thailand organizes this race to honor H.M. the King and H.M. the Queen, and upgrades this event to be Thailand Championship & International Championship. Nominated Bangsaphan Youth have been training at Southern Triathlon Training Center (Bangsaphan) to prepare for their first competition at their hometown.

Mr. Vijit Sithinavin, President of Triathlon Association of Thailand (TAT) said that due to the auspicious occasions of the 84th Birthday of H.M. the King Bhumibol Adulyadej on December 5, 2011 and the 79th Birthday of H.M. The Queen Sirikit on August 12, 2011, TAT is going to organize “Bangsaphan Triathlon Thailand Championship & International Championship 2011” to honor the King and the Queen on Sunday 7th August 2011 during 06.00-12.00 hrs. at the port of Prachuab Port Company Limited, Bangsaphan District, Prachuab Khirikhan Province. This event has been supported by Sahaviriya Group, the industrial leader in Prachuab Khirikhan, and the winners will occupy honorably trophies with total award worth THB400,000.

“This race will be held for the second year by TAT, and becomes more superior than the “1st Bangsphan International Triathlon in 2010” which gained so success. This year, the race is enhanced to be the “Bangsaphan Triathlon Thailand Championship & International Championship” to honor both H.M. the King and H.M. the Queen, as well as to promote sport-tourism of Bangsaphan, Prachuab Khirikhan.

In addition, TAT also nominated students in Bangsaphan District to join Bangsaphan Youth Triathlon Team. These youth have being trained by the TAT before firstly participating in the competition in their hometown in “Bangsaphan Triathlon Thailand Championship & International Championship”. They shall also gain opportunity to become the national triathletes to compete in the international triathlon events worldwide in the future. At present, 5 youth selected to be Bangsaphan Youth Triathlon Team are (1) Mr. Ruth Chummanee, (2) Mr. Krissana Chimsuwan, (3) Mr. Suk Sukhatopraekeo (4) Mr. Krissana Soisuk and (5) Mr. Werasak Puakpong. They are being trained by Thai national triatheltes to perform skills on swimming, biking and running, so they shall be ready for the event under Iron Man Dream Weaving Project of Bangsaphan Youth. This project has been sponsored by Sahaviriya Group and TAT has opened the Southern Triathlon Training Center) at Bangsaphan, Prachuab Khirikhan to welcome and train these youth as the first group there.

Mr. Nava Chantanasurakon, Vice President, Public Relations and Social Responsibility Division, Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited, or SSI said that Sahaviriya Group as an industrial sector which operates business in Bangsaphan realizes our role as a good citizen of the community. Hence, throughout the past years, we arranged activities which could provide sustainable benefits to the communities via various events, including the support on arrangement of Bangsaphan Triathlon and establishment of Southern Triathlon Training Center (Bangsaphan) by emphasizing the benefits for the communities, as top priority.

“The support on this event is an opportunity that Sahaviriya Group and Bangsaphan people can jointly perform together to honor H.M. the King and H.M. the Queen. The communities and the group can also take a part in stimulating sporting tourism in Bangsaphan from welcoming triathletes, tourists and accompanies both Thai and foreigners who shall travel there to join this activity. Income shall be generated to Bangsaphan as there shall be more spending on goods buying and services, such as food, accommodation, community products, souvenirs and etc.,” said Mr. Nava. He also added that Sahaviriya Group will also send “Sahaviriya Team” comprising of executives and staff to join the race as well.

In addition, Sahaviriya Group has given the race so much more purpose on “The Swim-Bike-Run for vulnerable people” charity project, which all donations made through Sahaviriya Group, will be delivered to the vulnerable people and the disaster victims without any expense deduction. Donor from Baht 100 to Baht 300 shall receive a “Strength to Live” wristband and donor from Baht 301 up shall receive a memorable T-shirt. The donors can notify which vulnerable group they prefer to contribute for. The interested people can jointly donate with Sahaviriya Triathlon Team from today onwards or on August 7, 2011 at the port, Prachuab Port Company Limited, Bangsaphan District, Prachuab Khirikhan.

“Bangsaphan Triathlon Thailand Championship & International Championship 2011” comprises of

Triathlon, which can be classified into 2 categories:

– Sprint Distance
750 m. swim + 20 km. bike + 5 km. run, which can be classified into 4 types, i.e. male youth not more than 17 years, female youth not more than 17 years, general male and general female.

– Standard Distance
1.5 km. swim + 40 km. bike + 10 km. run, which can be classified into 6 types, i.e. male youth not more than 19 years, male of 20-29 years, male of 30-39 years, males of 40-49 years, male of 50 years up and general female.

Fun Run for Health Event (5 kilometers)
– Youth, not more than 12 years, male
– Youth, not more than 12 years, female
– General people, female (13-34 years)

“ฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน ไตรกีฬาชิงแชมป์ประเทศไทยและชิงแชมป์นานาชาติ” เตรียมระเบิดศึกแห่งความแข็งแกร่ง 7 สิงหาคมนี้ ที่ อ.บางสะพาน จ.ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ สมาคมไตรกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทย เดินหน้าจัดการแข่งเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวฯ และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ นายกสมาคมไตรกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทย เผยยกระดับเป็นการแข่งขันชิงแชมป์ประเทศไทย และชิงแชมป์นานาชาติ ปั้นเยาวชนอำเภอบางสะพานเข้าศูนย์ฝึกไตรกีฬาภาคใต้ (บางสะพาน) เพื่อฝึกฝนก่อนประเดิมการแข่งขันแรกในสนามบ้านเกิด

นายวิจิตร สิทธินาวิน นายกสมาคมไตรกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทย เปิดเผยว่า เนื่องในวโรกาสพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ทรงเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษาครบ 84 พรรษา ในวันที่ 5 ธันวาคม 2554 และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ ทรงเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษาครบ 79 พรรษาในวันที่ 12 สิงหาคม 2554 สมาคมไตรกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทยได้เตรียมจัดกิจกรรมการแข่งขัน “ฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน ไตรกีฬาชิงแชมป์ประเทศไทยและชิงแชมป์นานาชาติ” 2554 เฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวฯ และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ (Bangsaphan Triathlon Thailand Championship & International Championship 2011) ชิงถ้วยเกียรติยศ พร้อมเงินรางวัลรวม 400,000 บาท ขึ้นในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 7 สิงหาคม 2554 เวลา 6.00 น. – 12.00 น. ณ บริเวณท่าเทียบเรือ บริษัท ท่าเรือประจวบ จำกัด อำเภอบางสะพาน จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนจากเครือสหวิริยา ผู้นำภาคอุตสาหกรรมในจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์

“การจัดการแข่งขันครั้งนี้สมาคมไตรกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทยได้จัดขึ้นเป็นปีที่ 2 โดยยกระดับการแข่งขันให้มีความยิ่งใหญ่เพิ่มมากขึ้นจาก “ฅนเหล็กบางสะพานไตรกีฬานานาชาติ หรือ BANGSAPHAN INTERNATIONAL TRIATHLON” ที่จัดขึ้นเมื่อปี 2553 สู่ “ฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน ไตรกีฬาชิงแชมป์ประเทศไทยและชิงแชมป์นานาชาติ” เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวฯ และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ รวมถึงส่งช่วยเสริมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงกีฬาให้กับอำเภอบางสะพาน หลังจากประสบความสำเร็จอย่างงดงามจากการจัดครั้งแรกเมื่อปีที่แล้ว”

นอกจากนี้สมาคมฯ ยังได้เปิดรับเยาวชนจากโรงเรียนต่างๆ ในอำเภอบางสะพาน เพื่อร่วมทีมไตรกีฬาเยาวชนบางสะพาน และรับการฝึกฝนโดยสมาคมฯ ก่อนประเดิมการแข่งขันในสนามบ้านเกิด “ฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน ไตรกีฬาชิงแชมป์ประเทศไทยและชิงแชมป์นานาชาติ” 7 สิงหาคมนี้ พร้อมต่อยอดก้าวสู่ทีมชาติเพื่อแข่งขันไตรกีฬาระดับโลกได้ในอนาคต โดยขณะนี้มีเยาวชนที่ผ่านการคัดเลือกเข้าเป็นทีมไตรกีฬาเยาวชนบางสะพานมีจำนวน 5 คน ได้แก่ (1) นายรุจน์ ฉ่ำมะณี (2) นายกฤษณะ ฉิมสุวรรณ์ (3) นายศุกร์ สุขาโตแพรเขียว (4) นายกฤษณะ สร้อยสุข และ (5) นายวีรศักดิ์ เผือกผ่อง ซึ่งจะได้รับการฝึกสอนโดยนักไตรกีฬาทีมชาติไทยให้มีการพัฒนาทักษะทั้งการว่ายน้ำ ขี่จักรยาน และวิ่ง ให้พร้อมสำหรับการแข่งขัน สำหรับโครงการสานฝันเยาวชนฅนเหล็กบางสะพาน เป็นโครงการที่เครือสหวิริยาให้การสนับสนุนการดำเนินงาน และสมาคมฯ ได้เปิดศูนย์ฝึกไตรกีฬาภาคใต้ (บางสะพาน) ที่ อำเภอบางสะพาน จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ขึ้นเพื่อรองรับการฝึกฝนเยาวชนกลุ่มนี้เป็นรุ่นแรก

ด้าน นายนาวา จันทนสุรคน ผู้บริหารเครือสหวิริยา และผู้ช่วยกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ สายกิจการสาธารณะและความรับผิดชอบทางสังคม บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี หรือ เอสเอสไอ กล่าวว่า เครือสหวิริยาในฐานะองค์กรภาคอุตสาหกรรมที่ดำเนินธุรกิจอยู่ในพื้นที่อำเภอบางสะพานตระหนักถึงบทบาทหน้าที่ของการเป็นพลเมืองที่ดีของชุมชน ซึ่งที่ผ่านมาได้ดำเนินกิจกรรมที่เป็นประโยชน์อย่างยั่งยืนต่อชุมชนเสมอมา ผ่านการจัดกิจกรรมรูปแบบต่างๆ รวมถึงสนับสนุนการจัดการแข่งขัน ฅนเหล็กบางสะพานฯ และการจัดตั้งศูนย์ฝึกไตรกีฬาภาคใต้ (บางสะพาน) ในครั้งนี้ด้วย โดยคำนึงถึงประโยชน์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นกับชุมชนเป็นสำคัญ

“การสนับสนุนการจัดการแข่งขันในครั้งนี้นับเป็นอีกหนึ่งโอกาสที่ดี ที่เครือสหวิริยาและชาวบางสะพานจะได้ร่วมเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวฯ และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ โดยพร้อมเพรียงกัน และยังมีส่วนรวมในการกระตุ้นการท่องเที่ยวเชิงกีฬาของอำเภอบางสะพานให้คึกคักมากยิ่งขึ้น จากการเป็นเจ้าบ้านต้อนรับนักกีฬา นักท่องเที่ยว ทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติที่จะเดินทางมาร่วมกิจกรรมดังกล่าว ซึ่งจะนำรายได้เข้ามาสู่อำเภอบางสะพานในรูปแบบของการจับจ่ายใช้สอยซื้อสินค้า และบริการในรูปแบบต่างๆ อาทิ อาหาร ที่พัก สินค้าชุมชน ของที่ระลึก เป็นต้น” นายนาวากล่าว และเพิ่มเติมอีกว่า ในการแข่งขันครั้งนี้เครือสหวิริยายังส่งทีมผู้บริหารและพนักงานร่วมลงแข่งขันในนาม “ทีมสหวิริยา” อีกด้วย

การแข่งขันไตรกีฬา ซึ่งแบ่งการแข่งขันออกเป็น 2 รุ่น คือ

– ประเภท Sprint Distance
