Many people might think that 9th SSI Arsa Activity was a small project because there were only 30-40 SSI Arsa participants joined in the activity each day. However if you could visit the actual venues, especially on Saturday 19th June 2010, you would say that “this is not so small at all”. Though everyone was so exhausted but the outcome of Namjai (Kindness) of the 9th SSI Arsa work during June 14-19, 2010 was so worthy that it made all the participants proud to do good deed this time.
The 262 volunteer staff joined hands with teachers, students and their parents to help building 6 vegetable plots at sized 1×4 meter for each school of total 7 of them that participated in Young Farmer Hydroponics Project, i.e. Bang Saphan Kindergarten School, Matthayom Noppakun, Ban Huay Saikao School, Ban Donsamran School, Ban Tha Kham, Ban Suanluang School and Sothsuksathepparat School. The former vegetable plots which was used to plant non-toxic vegetables to make lunch for the students in each school were in deteriorate conditions that they cannot be used to plant any other vegetable any longer and the improvement cost of those plots was rather high. Therefore, in order to reduce the cost on constructing of the new vegetable plots, the formats of the plots are needed to be changed to make them stronger and more durable.
Kind-hearted adults, Mr. Tawin Chantravaranurak, Assistant District Officer of Bang Saphan always provided good supports to our project as usual, the same as the top management of SSI – Khun Win Viriyaprapaikit who helped this project until they were finished.
Nowadays, new products of vegetable of these students are planted in the stable places which are suitable for areas located closed to the sea like Bang Saphan area. If there are excessive vegetables, a small market in front of SSI plant can be held once again.

น้ำใจ หมายถึง ผัก
หลายคนมองว่ากิจกรรมเอสเอสไออาสาครั้งที่ 9 นี้ เป็นโครงการเล็ก ๆ เพราะจำนวนเอสเอสไออาสาที่เข้าร่วมในแต่ละวันมีเพียงประมาณ 30-40 คน แต่เมื่อลงลึกไปถึงหน้างาน โดยเฉพาะวันเสาร์ที่ 19 มิถุนายน 2553 ต่างกลับ
ประสานเสียงกันว่า “ ได้เรื่องเหมือนกัน” ไม่ว่าจะเหนื่อยแค่ไหน แต่ผลลัพธ์ของน้ำใจ เอสเอสไออาสาครั้งที่ 9 ระหว่างวันที่ 14-19 มิถุนายน ที่ผ่านมา ก็เป็นอีกงานหนึ่งที่สร้างความภูมิใจในการทำความดีสำหรับผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม พนักงานอาสา 262 คน ได้ร่วมกับ ครู นักเรียน และผู้ปกครอง ร่วมกันสร้างแปลงผักปลูกพืช ขนาด 1*4 เมตร ให้กับโรงเรียนที่เข้าร่วมโครงการยุวเกษตรอินทรีย์ปลูกพืชไร้ดิน จำนวน 7 โรงเรียน ๆ ละ 6 แปลง เนื่องจากแปลงปลูกเดิมซึ่งเป็นแหล่งอาหารกลางวันที่ไร้สารพิษเจือปนของน้องๆ แต่ละโรงเรียนมีสภาพทรุดโทรม ไม่สามารถปลูกรุ่นต่อไปได้อีก ซึ่งการปรับปรุงแปลงแบบเดิมต้องใช้ต้นทุนสูง และเพื่อลดต้นทุนในการก่อสร้างแปลงปลูกใหม่ จึงต้องเปลี่ยนแบบของแปลงปลูกพืช เพื่อให้มีความแข็งแรงและทนทานมากขึ้น ทั้งที่ โรงเรียนอนุบาลบางสะพาน มัธยมนพคุณ บ้านห้วยทรายขาว บ้านดอนสำราญ บ้านท่าขาม บ้านสวนหลวง และ โสตศึกษาเทพรัตน์
ผู้ใหญ่ใจดี ปลัดอาวุโสอำเภอบางสะพาน ถวิล ฉันทราวรานุรักษ์ ร่วมเป็นกำลังใจให้เราเช่นดีเหมือนเคย เช่นเดียวกับผู้บริหารสูงสุดของเอสเอสไอ คุณวิน วิริยประไพกิจ ที่ร่วมลงมือลงแรงจนงานลุล่วงตอนนี้ ผักรุ่นใหม่ของน้องๆ มีที่อยู่ที่คงทน เหมาะสมกับสภาพพื้นที่ใกล้ชายทะเลอย่างบางสะพาน บ้านเราวันไหนผักของน้องๆมีเหลือเผื่อ เราจะได้เห็นตลาดผักเล็กๆที่หน้าโรงงานของเราอีกครั้ง นั่นหมายถึง อาหารกลางวันของน้องๆ ที่สามารถแปรเป็นรายได้กลับสู่โรงเรียนได้อีกทางหนึ่งด้วย

Dr. Maruay Phadoongsidhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited (SSI), together with management team and staff from companies of Sahaviriya Group, presented 289 scholarships, in an amount of 225,000 Baht to students from 15 schools in Bangsaphan. SVG has provided scholarships to students residing in Bangsaphan areas for the 16th straight year, since the inception of the program in 2010. The objective was to enhance education opportunity for economically weaker students from the primary school to high school in the local area. This program is part of the SVG’s continuing commitment to community service.
ดร.มารวย ผดุงสิทธิ์ ประธานกรรมการ บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ พร้อมคณะผู้บริหาร และ พนักงานบริษัทต่างๆในเครือสหวิริยาร่วมมอบทุนการศึกษาให้แก่เยาวชนบางสะพาน จำนวน 289ทุน มูลค่า 225,000 บาทใน โครงการมอบทุนการศึกษาเครือสหวิริยาประจำปี 2553ซึ่งเป็นโครงการที่จัดต่อเนื่องมาเป็นปีที่ 16 แล้ว โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสนับสนุนโอกาสทางการศึกษาให้แก่เยาวชนในท้องถิ่นที่ มีฐานะยากจนตั้งแต่ระดับประถมศึกษาถึงระดับอุดมศึกษา โดยใช้รูปแบบการเดินทางเป็นคณะนำโดยผู้บริหารบริษัทในเครือสหวิริยาเพื่อไป มอบทุนการศึกษาตามโรงเรียนต่างๆ ในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอบางสะพานจำนวน 15 แห่ง โครงการมอบทุนการศึกษานี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมพัฒนาชุมชนที่เครือสหวิริยาได้ดำเนินการอย่างต่อเนื่อง
