SSI developed hydroponics agricultural project for Rajaprajanugroh School of Chumphon Province with aims to serve as school lunch project and generate income to the school, as well as to serve as the pilot learning source for the students and the communities.

Mr. Kittisak Mapanao, Vice President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. or SSI said that the Company has arranged the “New Agricultural Method by the Cooperation of SSI and Rajaprajanugroh” Project for Rajaprajanugroh 20 School of Chumphon Province which is under the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation and under the Royal Patronage. The works undertaken included construction of hydroponics agricultural houses, provision of various kinds of vegetable seeds and materials used to control the plantation system. In addition, SSI also invited the experts to train and provide knowledge on new agricultural method to the teachers and students supervising the project to ensure that they can effectively practiced the work according to the knowledge gained and can transfer it to the interested people correctly. This operation can eventually make them having self-reliance life style in the future. Moreover, this project can be developed to be lunch project for students and can create additional income to the school as well as serve as pilot project on new agricultural method to the villagers in the communities and the interested people.

“This new agricultural project is one of the activities performed by the Company pursuant to its targeted missions to strengthen good quality of life to the people in the communities and to encourage knowledge for sustainable career. The Company has particularly emphasized on development of the less opportunely children and youth by proving them more educational opportunities so they can be equally to those in the big cities. This project will make the students fully known and learnt about the full cycle of new agricultural method from actual operation in the plot of land provided by the Company. It is believed that knowledge gained can be used for their career and can lead to their self-reliance in the future. Previously, this kind of project has been successfully organized and delivered to 2 schools under supervision of Rajaprajanugroh Foundation and under the Royal Patronage, namely Rajaprajanugroh 27 School of Nong Khai and Rajaprajanugroh 33 School of Lop Buri”, said Mr. Kittisak.

Additionally, this hydroponics project can encourage the students to learn about more and various methods of agricultural plantation. Such methods can make the lives of the consumers safe because vegetables eaten are free from pesticide residue and they can control the production not to cause damages to the environment including can control the productivity to be as per the consuming demand and sale distribution.

Regarding the arrangement of the project operation, the Company has invited the specialists to be the working group in planning the plantation system, beginning from how to make plantation equipment and production processes which ranging from cultivating of seedling, taking care of young seedling, planting on plot of land and harvesting the productivity. This working group also provides training to the teachers and the students, so they can adapt it continually and create income to schools in the future.

เอสเอสไอ พัฒนาโครงการเกษตรไร้ดิน ให้แก่โรงเรียนราชประชาฯ จ.ชุมพร สำหรับเป็นโครงการอาหารกลางวันและสร้างรายได้เสริมให้แก่โรงเรียน พร้อมทั้งส่งเสริมเป็นต้นแบบการเรียนรู้ของนักเรียน – ชุมชน

นายกิตติศักดิ์ มาพะเนาว์ ผู้ช่วยกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ SSI เปิดเผยว่า บริษัทฯ ได้จัดทำโครงการ “เกษตรสมัยใหม่ เอสเอสไอร่วมใจราชประชานุเคราะห์” มอบให้แก่โรงเรียนราชประชานุเคราะห์ 20 จังหวัดชุมพร ซึ่งอยู่ภายใต้การดูแลของมูลนิธิราชประชานุเคราะห์ ในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ โดยสร้างโรงเรือนเกษตรปลูกพืชไร้ดิน หรือที่เรียกว่าการปลูกพืชระบบ Hydroponics พร้อมทั้งจัดซื้อเมล็ดพันธุ์พืชชนิดต่างๆ และวัสดุอุปกรณ์ควบคุมระบบการเพาะปลูก รวมถึงนำวิทยากรเข้ามาอบรมให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการทำเกษตรแนวใหม่ให้แก่คณะครูและนักเรียนผู้ดูแลโครงการ เพื่อนำความรู้มาปฏิบัติได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและถ่ายทอดให้แก่ผู้สนใจได้ถูกต้อง ซึ่งจะนำไปสู่การดำเนินชีวิตที่สามารถพึ่งพาตนเองได้ในอนาคต อีกทั้งสามารถพัฒนาเป็นโครงการอาหารกลางวันสำหรับเด็กนักเรียนและสร้างรายได้เสริมให้โรงเรียนได้ ตลอดจนเป็นต้นแบบการทำเกษตรสมัยใหม่ให้แก่ชาวบ้านในชุมชนและผู้ที่สนใจต่อไป

“โครงการเกษตรสมัยใหม่ฯ เป็นอีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมที่บริษัทได้ดำเนินการตามพันธกิจในการเสริมสร้างคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีให้แก่คนในชุมชน และส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้เพื่อการประกอบอาชีพอย่างยั่งยืน โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการให้ความสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาเด็กและเยาวชนที่ขาดโอกาสให้ได้รับการศึกษาเทียบเท่ากับเยาวชนในสังคมเมืองใหญ่ ซึ่งโครงการนี้จะทำให้นักรียนได้เรียนรู้การทำเกษตรแนวใหม่ได้อย่างเต็มที่จากการลงมือปฏิบัติงานจริงในแปลงเกษตรที่บริษัทได้จัดทำไว้ให้อย่างครบวงจร ซึ่งเชื่อมั่นว่าความรู้ที่ได้รับจะสามารถนำไปประกอบอาชีพและพึ่งพาตนเองได้ในอนาคต ทั้งนี้โครงการดังกล่าวได้จัดทำและมอบได้แก่โรงเรียนในความดูแลของมูลนิธิราชประชานุเคราะห์ในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ ซึ่งประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างดีมาแล้วถึง 2 แห่ง ได้แก่ โรงเรียนราชประชานุเคราะห์ 27 จังหวัดหนองคาย และโรงเรียนราชประชานุเคราะห์ 33 จังหวัดลพบุรี” นายกิตติศักดิ์ กล่าว

นอกจากนี้การปลูกพืชไร้ดินยังเป็นการส่งเสริมให้นักเรียนได้เรียนรู้วิธีการทำการเกษตรที่หลากหลายเพิ่มมากขึ้น ซึ่งวิธีการดังกล่าวสามารถควบคุมการผลิตไม่ให้ก่อความเสียหายต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม ผู้บริโภคจะได้รับความปลอดภัย จากการบริโภคผลผลิตที่ปลอดภัยจากสารพิษ และสามารถควบคุมการผลิตให้ได้ตามความต้องการ สอดคล้องกับการบริโภค และการจัดจำหน่ายอีกด้วย

สำหรับรูปแบบการดำเนินโครงการฯนั้นบริษัทได้เชิญผู้เชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะด้านร่วมเป็นคณะทำงานในการวางแผนจัดระบบการปลูก ตั้งแต่การจัดทำอุปกรณ์การปลูก ขั้นตอนการผลิต เริ่มจากการเพาะกล้า การอนุบาลกล้าอ่อน การปลูกบนแปลงปลูก และการเก็บเกี่ยวผลผลิต พร้อมทั้งเป็นวิทยากรอบรมให้ความรู้แก่ครู และนักเรียน ซึ่งจะทำให้สามารถนำไปดำเนินการได้อย่างต่อเนื่องและสร้างรายได้ให้แก่โรงเรียนต่อไปในอนาคต
